Join the ELT Team

ELT is a nonprofit professional development organization focused on delivering quality professional development designed to improve the quality of teaching and learning. We offer graduate and undergraduate courses, inservice programs, seminars and group facilitation.

Should you be interested in becoming part of the ELT Team, the following documents must be completed and submitted to ELT:

For Teacher Candidates For School-Related Professional Candidates
  • Resume

  • Application (includes statement of interest and signature of local president)
  • Personal Statement

 
  • Official College Transcripts (Bachelor's, Master's and 18 hours beyond Master’s Degree*) 

    *If an NBCT, an official notification as a National Board Certified Teacher will act as in lieu of 18 hours beyond Master's Degree.

 
  • Signed New Instructor Terms and Conditions Form

 

Selected Candidates will be required to attend an ELT New Instructor Training Program as well as course content training. Further details regarding instructor training will be provided to candidates upon approval.

Documents should be sent to ELTNwIns@nysutmail.org or NYSUT ELT, 800 Troy-Schenectady, Road, Latham, NY 12110. After submitting, candidates will receive a confirmation email indicating that items were received. If you do not receive a confirmation, please call us at 800-528-6208.

Due to the high volume of applications received annually, all applicants will be subject to a rigorous screening process, which includes, but is not limited to: approval by ELT staff, ELT Board of Trustees as well as our partnering colleges. ELT Instructors are independent contractors serving as NYSUT ELT representatives for the programs in their areas, and responsible for the promotion and establishment of course work. Instructors work under the direction of ELT leadership and staff.
