Learn to build more welcoming classrooms

And earn CTLE hours

Our classrooms can be representative of our communities, a place where all children feel welcome and valued. Here, we have identified four seminars designed to create more caring and productive learning environments. Seminars are offered online asynchronously, and each is worth five CTLE hours.

All courses are discounted for NYSUT members.

Educators can also earn CTLE hours at six regional learning centers. These classes are organized by local union leaders and offered free of charge to NYSUT members.

Eight Cultural Forces to Transform Our Schools teaches instructors how to create a classroom where a group’s collective thinking and individual thinking is valued, visible and actively promoted. Taught by Franca Fiorentino, this course transforms schools and converts students into global thinkers who understand how they reach their conclusions. Perhaps, most importantly, the course encourages dialogue and collaboration.
